My brother and I had a double wedding.
It was just like the last time.
Back then, Seraphina hadn't shown up for the ceremony, but Isabelle had been there bright and early.
Everyone said she was the more considerate wife.
Sure enough, this life was no different.
Isabelle, dressed in a white wedding gown, rushed to my brother's side and took his hand.
As they passed me, Dylan shot me a smug look. "Hey, bro. Where's Seraphina?"
I just smiled. "Don't you worry about me, little brother. Just focus on yourself."
My words wiped the smirk right off his face.
Go ahead and laugh. Let's see if you're still laughing after she beats you.
He thought that last part to himself, then led Isabelle downstairs.
But it's too early to declare a winner. We'll see who gets the last laugh.
With Seraphina absent, just like last time, I became the subject of whispers and strange looks from the guests.
Dylan was thrilled. He couldn't wait to turn to Isabelle and say, "I love you, Isabelle."
Then he kissed her right on the lips.
I knew he was doing it to see me squirm.
But I'm not an idiot. I wouldn't make the same mistake he did in our last life and storm out in a rage.
That would just give everyone, especially the Warren family, something to gossip about.
I remember how everyone said Dylan was immature and unworthy of being a Warren son-in-law.
Because of that, the matriarch never gave him the time of day, making his life in the family a living hell.
I took the microphone and gave the crowd a confident smile.
"Sera had a very important business deal to close today. During the toast later, I'll be drinking for the both of us. I hope you'll all understand."
My words silenced the murmuring crowd.
From the head table, the Warren matriarch looked at me with a newfound respect.
The Warren family was immensely powerful, and they cared deeply about appearances and public opinion.
At a time like this, a son-in-law marrying into the family couldn't show weakness. He had to act like a true host.
Dylan saw the matriarch's approving gaze, and a flash of annoyance crossed his face.
God, he's so smug. Just wait. I'll make sure you humiliate yourself during the tea ceremony!
Honestly, being able to hear thoughts is a pretty great power.
It’s like having a superpower. It makes everything so much easier.
When it was time for the tea ceremony, I walked calmly toward the matriarch.
Dylan's eyes were fixed on me, and in his mind, he counted down. One, two, three.
The next second, I smoothly sidestepped to grab a cup of tea.
And Dylan tripped over his own feet, sprawling onto the floor and splashing tea all over himself.
"Are you okay?"
Isabelle rushed to help him up.
But in her mind, she was scolding him. What an idiot!
All eyes turned toward them.
The matriarch's face was a mask of fury.
"So clumsy! Is that how a Warren son-in-law behaves?"
"I… I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."
Dylan stammered an apology, his eyes filled with resentment.
If I were him, I'd just keep my head down and live quietly this time around.
But since he was so determined to make my life miserable, I had no intention of just taking it.
